Endotracheal intubation procedure

ENDOTRACHEAL INTUBATION

INDICATION: HYPOXIC RESPIRATORY FAILURE

SEDATION : 200mcg Fentanyl and 9mg of versed

Procedure:

Using a size 4 Macintosh blade direct laryngoscopy was performed.

Vocal cords were visualized.

A size 7.5 ETT was used and passed between the vocal cords.

ETT placement was confirmed by good precipitation in the ETT, B/L breath sounds, Positive color change on capnography and improved oxygen saturation by pulse oximetry.

CXR ordered.

Patient's vital signs were stable at all times.

No complications.
