CODE BLUE - SGH

• • To request a Code Blue announcement, dial 116 from any hospital phone.

  • Request the Code Blue, give the name of the Unit, the room number, and the bed number (for example, 4-West Room 400 Bed 3).

  • If the medical emergency is occurring in a non-patient care area, just mention the area (for example, 4-Main Endoscopy, Cafeteria, Front Lobby...etc...)

  • You MUST be BLS/ACLS certified in order to participate in a Code Blue situation.

  • If you are assigned to the Code Team for that day, walk briskly to the Code site when you hear the announcement.

  • Upon arrival to the Code site, identify the Code Team Leader and follow the BLS/ACLS protocol as outlined in
