Мета курсу:
The course introduces an theoretical background of microfluid mechanics, the corresponding mathematical models when validity of the Navier Stokes equations is questioned by checking the continuum hypothesis. Intermolecular, intramolecular, surface as well as well as particle forces in micro fluid devices are determined; modeling strategies on molecular, meso and macro scale are in some detail presented. The students must possess competences and knowledges about the multiscaling and multiphysical nature flow phenomena in microsystems; they should be able to conduct dimensional analysis to classify the flow with respect to the different flow regimes regarding the continuum hypothesis.
