The purpose of this project is not just to make an entertaining and immersive game, but also to be a vehicle for sparking consideration of themes pervading human culture.
Like many games, Ephemeral Respite also has the opportunity to be a teaching tool for expanding vocabulary of young minds. As such, a strong emphasis will be a diverse vocabulary to grow the diction of young and old players alike.
Eventually, I envision a persistent MMO-type game in which the players control a cultural, economic, and societal simulation in the context of world events.
Ideally, along with a paid team of artists and programmers, I'd like to put this together as a fun, profitable product.
