Scientists are skilled in the arts of fundamental knowledge and invention. They often work with Mechanics to deploy their creations, or with Farmers, as a source of raw materials for their syntheses. Scientists on Calydon generally focus either in chemistry and materials, or in molecular and synthetic biology.
Scientists can manipulate organismal systems to change their abilities and outputs. Their practical deployment of the resultant organisms does not go quite as far as the Farmer's, but their ability to manipulate them far surpasses their peers. Scientists are responsible for engineering the F. solaris strain that is responsible for providing the atmosphere on Calydon. Scientists can be found in almost all social organizations from eccentric Quemists to gun-loving Chestonites, but with one exception- Scientists are are unwelcome by the Fallacy Fairies, due to their mistrust of technology.
