Occasionally some Calydonians accrue so much despicable behavior, that there is a collective interest in their disposal. It is a practice on Calydon for the community to offer a bounty for the heads of the wanted.
Gaining a bounty
When you are caught performing activities such as killing other characters or performing wicked deeds on quests, assuredly NPCs and sometimes other players will go to the bounty center to add a bounty on your head. If you have had a bounty on your head for more than 1 day, an icon will appear above your character, indicating to other players your wanted status. Additionally, after 1 week of having a bounty on your head, your character can be killed in Safe Areas as though you were in a Wild Area.
Reducing your bounty
There are ways to atone and reduce your bounty. Bounties that are generated from players upon being killed in a Wild Areas or brought to a knee in a Safe Area can be paid off at a 2:1 ratio. The paid off amount is made available to the player who set the bounty who can receive it in the same manner as claiming a bounty, or they can leave the bounty unclaimed for the bounty on the attacker's head to remain. A player is not considered atoned (bounty cleared) until the bounty setter picks up the atonement amount.
If a player with a bounty is killed before they are atoned, the bounty can be claimed by the bounty hunter, and half of the atonement amount is reimbursed. In this case, the player who set the bounty cannot collect any of the atonement amount, because it is removed from the records.
Bounties
At bounty centers, players can view or add to existing bounties on other players, or enter new bounties.
The players with the most PKs will have their names, relative power (level), and last known location broadcasted across bounty networks.
There are also NPC bounty hunters, so if you carry enough of an incentive, you might never be able to let your guard down.
Claiming bounties
When you successfully kill a player or NPC with a bounty, you will receive the payout for the bounty, as well as any loot you would normally receive from killing a player. You do not gain the statuses Griefer's Bane, and A Taste of Blood.
It can sometimes be very challenging to kill a player with a bounty on their heads, since if they have not carried the bounty for more than 1 week, they can retreat to Safe Areas that are exempt from killing PVP capabilities.
