The Fallacy Fairies are a collective of naturalists who believe order can only be restored or achieved by the natural regrowth of plants and living in balance with nature. They acknowledge that humans are the force of destruction of nature, so they lead penitent lives, putting nature before their every need. In line with their natural ways, the Fallacy Fairies have effectively readopted primitive weapons such as spears and bows. The tribe tends to distrust any device that requires electricity. Similarly, within this group, Mystics have excelled at unlocking some of the inexplicable wonders of the universe that transcend scientific knowledge. They practice metallurgy, but generally at a minimum.
They reside in the Pfenniger Forest, centralized around the elusive Maranatha, and frequently clash with the destructive Reapers from the south who have no care for nature. The Fallacy Fairies react violently towards people in their domain who threaten nature. Victims meet gruesome deaths, and often end up as decorations around their domain. An example of one of the worst cases is the hanging of severed male genitalia from branches of trees in their living areas. While these are not exclusively from interlopers, as full castration following a marathon of intercourse with women in the group is the rite of passage for outsider males who seek to join the order. Due to their libidinal tendencies, there is also an economy catering to adventurous interlopers who agree to respect their other cultural practices while in their city.
Taken together, these are thought to be the origin of the sound of their name, though not in writing. The rite of passage process is finished by an extensive tattooing of the hands and frequently other parts of the body. For either gender, joining the Fallacy Fairies is a rather irreversible process. In rare cases the Fallacy Fairies will take interlopers as prisoners, and attempt to 'rehabilitate' them and teach them their ways. The Forest Four are known to undertake these more radical practices.
The Fallacy Fairies are aware of Stifford Coll who takes residence in the forest. They distrust him due to his machinist tendencies, however they typically do not risk confronting him due to his elegant and dangerous defense system.
Followers can sometimes be found wearing no more than leaves, and often times greet each other by smiling and saying "Yatta!"
Players that are members of the Fallacy Fairies faction receive the benefits from its status.
Influence: In addition to the factors that amount to the influence for all factions, the Fallacy Fairies have an amount of bonus or penalty to their influence based on the number of trees and the median average age of trees on Calydon. Through the Leafwhisper, members of the Fallacy Fairies can see these figures.
Membership: The Fallacy Fairies are primarily comprised of women, although men seeking entrance can do so by completing the ritual. Most of their number are young, mostly due to the challenges of the Fallacy Fairy way of life. In there ranks there are notable low-tech Brutes, skilled nature-oriented Farmers, and Mystics, but no Mechanics, as their practice forbids use and manipulation of essentially all electrical machinery.
Hierarchy: The Fallacy Fairies are always lead by a woman or eunuch bearing the name and title Mother. Currently they are lead by Annathema.
