Great birds of prey, the Rocs come out infrequently from the high altitudes to pick off unwary people who forget to check the skies. They are the large, mutant cousins of eagles. Their large mass is supported by the high concentration of oxygen at high altitudes produced by the F. solaris biofilm.
Apex predators from above, they will pick off all but the largest land animals in the Vast Deferens for a meal. The greatest threat to the Roc are the Ourogandr, who plunder their nests for eggs.
