The main view is where the player spends most of their time. Other UI pages can be accessed by a hotkey or button from the main view. UI components match the style of your faction's Cavelink.
Main view features:
This is where the character walks around, explores, and does combat in. The view is always centered on the player.
When an item drops on the ground it has a light gray outline until the player mouses-over it. Mouse-over an item will add a brighter outline around the object, and its name will appear (and optionally some of its basic properties). Pressing down a key will show the names of all items on the ground (e.g. as in D2). When the show-all button is pressed, item names can be right-clicked to change the text size or hide items of that type or quality. [Not too much customization here, to keep the appearance of the game from player to player somewhat consistent.]
On the left side is a panel that carries player communication or chatting. There are buttons to change to any channel (like Starcraft).
When a character enters dialogue with an NPC, a panel appears across the bottom of the main view with a numbered list of possible responses. A response may be selected by clicking on it, or by pressing the number assigned to the response.
A populatable panel appears across the bottom of the view, (more icons than Diablo, less icons than WoW), where the player can customize links to abilities or ability queues.
On the top right is a local minimap of the surroundings of the character.
On the top center is a panel of icons that show current statuses that effect the character. They have a description on mouse over, and can be clicked for more detailed information.
