Animated Infographic to interest teens in Empathy Circle’s

First, we storyboarded our infographic:

Then Chase built the infographic (without voiceover) based on the storyboards.

Two days later, the team reconvened and developed a script based on the animated inforgraphic:

Yo what's up slide:

Hi, I'm Kate.

Teens have a hard time slide:

Teens like us face a lot of hard issues...we have school stress, hmwk, college applications and parent to deal with.

Cityscape slide:

As if that's not enough, societal pressures are bringing us down. Life is really tough for us and there isn't enough time to deal with it all.

Empathy is good for you slide:

Empathy can ease all of these problems

Empathy is putting yourself in someone else's shoes in order to understand how they feel and behave.

Empathy is associated with a 47% increase in oxytocin. Oxytocin is also known as the hug hormone, cuddle chemical, moral molecule, love hormone.

Researchers have found that empathy increases happiness and positive relations with others.

In awhile slide:

*Where can i learn more about empathy?

I've heard that empathy circles are a great place to give and receive empathy

Chase found a friend to be the voiceover talent, and they recorded her reading the script. Then Chase applied the audio to the infographic, and this is the result!

Wendy was inspired by the music in this trailer, and thought it might be a good addition to our infographic.

We tested our prototype with local teens in the Burbank area, as well as grade 11 advisories at Atlanta International School, with help of Shelley Paul and Elena Barrio. They offered the following feedback.
