Melissa Fuller
Intention:
to learn more about empathic design and expand my own skills in relation to empathic skills development. I’m not such a great listener, so this also gives me a chance to practice and improve.
Brainstorms
more time to learn about / get to know people before the circle starts (share bios, etc)
1 to 1 meetings outside circle (on or off line)
prior to circle, send each other something “real/tangible” to put in front of you while conversing online : then you can fiddle with it, look at it while the other is talking (something they touched makes them seem more “real”)
empathy pillows
3 dimentional hologram heads of participants instead of a thumbnail.
time to write notes after you listen to each person’s initial speech : so the tips, ideas, questions can be asked later / don’t get lost.
physical shared experience : all eat same food/wear same socks to feel a bond (Empathy circle t-shirts!, same shoes!)
Intention
to practice what we started learning about last week. I also would like to explore using this method as part of an intervention I am designing for use in a higher education setting (in 16/17)
