Fordøyelse på anbud? 

I boka "Primate Change - How the world we made is remaking us" leser om hvordan makelighet gjennom noen tusen år har svekket  menneskekroppen mht. benbygning og muskulatur, og også mht. fordøyelse:

“Most of our meat is consumed in burger form, which means that not only has the meat been cooked, but the beef has already been ground up. These things are not inherently bad. Some research has even postulated that it is the cause of the speculative bump in human IQ during that so-called Cognitive Revolution:^ it derives from human access to meat sources and our ability to absorb their nutrients through cooking and food processing. But today we even have our chewing done for us at a mega-factory probably thousands of miles away from where we live and eat. This is the most flagrant kind of outsourcing imaginable. And of course, it’s not just burgers that are processed. The majority of the Western diet consists of foods like these, all are astonishingly easy to digest, so the body can whip all the calories and sugars out of them with the greatest ease.”
