Sannhet

To my best belief: just what is the pragmatic theory of truth?, Aeon, 2018-08-07

"Man's achievements rest upon the use of symbols.... we must consider ourselves as a symbolic, semantic class of life, and those who rule the symbols, rule us."

Alfred Korzybski (1879-1950)

"Objectivity is the delusion that observations could be made without an observer."

Heinz von Foerster (1911-2002)

“Let us repeat the two crucial negative premises as established firmly by all human experience: (1) Words are not the things we are speaking about; and (2) There is no such thing as an object in absolute isolation.”

Alfred Korzybski (1879-1950)

We must love them both, those whose opinions we share and those whose opinions we reject, for both have labored in the search for truth, and both have helped us in finding it.

Thomas Aquinas (1225-1274)

"Believe nothing because it is written in books.

Believe nothing because wise men say it is so.

Believe nothing because it is religious doctrine.

Believe it only because you yourself know it to be true."

Buddha (c.563-483 BC) [Siddharta Gautama]
