Digitale myter

Paul A. Kirschner og Pedro de Bruyckere skriver i artikkelen "The myths of the digital native and the multitasker" om tre utbredte myter:

 Neil Postman's (1931-2003) utsagn er fortsatt gyldig:

“Through the computer, the heralds say, we will make education better, religion better, politics better, our minds better — best of all, ourselves better. This is, of course, nonsense, and only the young or the ignorant or the foolish could believe it.”

Herbert Simon (1916-2001) påpekte for mer enn femti år siden:

“What information consumes is rather obvious: it consumes the attention of its recipients. Hence a wealth of information creates a poverty of attention, and a need to allocate that attention efficiently among the overabundance of information sources that might consume it.”
