The Crowded Bowl (13 Feb)

Working with entrepreneurs

Its amazing Nicholas got to put together this meeting with The Crowded Bowl for us. It recently opened its store in NTU this semester and its been my almost daily ritual to eat my lunch and dinner there.

We met Mr Soh (Owner of the crowded bowl) today for a quick discussion over potential business collaborations to put our coffee in his business. We pitched to him our business model and discussed how we could work together in this. Mr Soh felt that our cold brew was rather ordinary (Plain black) and that we did not have the proper licenses to put our product into the stores.

He shared with us how he managed his suppliers as well, with most of his products pre-prepackaged and checked before sending it to the store otherwise he would require additional licensing to prepare food in store.

Mr Soh was previously an NTU student as well from NBS and his own entrepreneurship journey he shared with us really gave us a better look into the long hours he puts into running all his branches, along with handling all the HR issues with it. He was also frequently experimenting with various new items in his menu and using that data to help him make new decisions. One of this strategies was to put out a limited quantity of 10 Yusheng Sets at $29 each and see how the various audiences at his branches responded to it. It was a simple experiment but it helps him understand his business better. Launch and just r
