Expansion?

Perspectives

Its been two straight weeks of sales! We have gotten more used to the sales process, streamlining our steps needed to make a sale.

  • We started a separate telegram chat purely for handling sales orders and transactions
  • Cleaned up our landing page
  • Restructured our sales sheet to track more accurately for transactions and bottle returns

From the perspective of handling production:

Currently most of the production is still being handled on my side, typically takes between 20-40 mins of my time daily to produce the bottles. Our method is doing great, especially with the purchase of the new coffee socks that has made it easier to prepare the beans! However, sanitation of the equipment and bottles takes up most of the time, but there isn't much of a way to speed that up without procuring a full location.

Ideally we should be able to source for a pantry/location to upscale our production especially if we are heading towards a B2B structure in the upcoming months.

Our current capacity is at 15 bottles (7.5 ltrs) of cold brew concentrate at one point in time. We still have sufficient coffee beans to last for another 30 bottles!

From the perspective of handling finances:

  • Current revenue in two weeks is at $216 with 30 bottles sold and 4 bottles returned!
  • Our total expenditure into this business till date stands at $465 and that gives us a breakeven unit of 59.
  • At this rate we are hoping to breakeven within the first week of February.

I have learnt more about handling the finances through the business, despite learning basic accounting during our ET9132 module with Kenneth, it was a very different challenge here with needing to properly define our CAPEX and OPEX, while developing a structure to track returns on our projected sales. So far only 13.33% of the bottles have been returned, and this will help me get a better sense of how to estimate our next two months sales!

Final thoughts:

Its really exciting to see all these new initiatives being pushed out by both our sales teams, with an upcoming valentines event and pitch deck being prepared for B2B, I hope that we will be able to continue to learn more from this journey. Personally I feel like i need to continue to convey my objectives better during team meetings so everyone can be on the same page. Furthermore, I am hoping more sales can come out for the rest of the team as well!
