Dear Middle School Parents,
As we approach the second week of Advent, we embrace a season of preparation and reflection in anticipation of Christ's birth. Advent invites us to pause amidst the busyness of everyday life, allowing us to prepare our hearts for the coming of our Savior. Each week carries a special theme, and this second Sunday of Advent is traditionally focused on peace.
Throughout Scripture, we are reminded that peace is an essential attribute of our Savior. In Isaiah 9:6, we learn that Jesus is called the “Prince of Peace.” Ephesians 2:14 tells us, “He is our peace,” and Hebrews 13:20 speaks of the “God of peace.” This season encourages us to contemplate the profound peace that Jesus brings into our lives—a peace that surpasses all understanding and calms the storms we may face.
As we approach the end of the semester, it’s natural for parents and students to worry about grades and upcoming summative assessments. While it's easy to let fear and anxiety creep in, I encourage you to seek peace amid the hustle and bustle of this time of year. Encourage your children to focus on the hard work they have put in, rather than solely on the outcomes, knowing that their efforts are valued in the eyes of God and our community.
Let us remember to support one another and foster an environment of encouragement and understanding, helping our children find peace and joy in their academic journey. May this Advent season be a time for deepening our faith and sharing the love of Christ, who is our true source of peace.
Blessings,
Will Schroeder
Middle School Principal
