Life in the Middle

Dear Middle School Parents & Students,

Welcome back to another school year at the International Christian School!

I want to start this year by thanking you for choosing ICS. I know there are many international schools in this city, and we are grateful you chose us. ICS is a school devoted to academic excellence while also being a place where discipleship and faith truly matter. We aim to educate students to achieve academic excellence while they grow in their faith and become solid followers of Jesus Christ.

Each school year is a journey filled with ups and downs. There will be times when everything goes smoothly for your child and times when they struggle. Both of these moments are valuable in a student's educational journey. We want to ensure that we do not eliminate all hardship and difficulty from our students' lives. I encourage you, as parents, to be there for your child as they work through challenges this year, but please do not solve all their problems for them. As they persevere through difficulties, they will build resilience.

I love the verses in 2 Peter 1:5-7, which say, “Make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love.”

That verse wonderfully reflects our heart for students at ICS. I pray that our students will continue to “make every effort” as we navigate this school year.
