Elementary Mission Delivery Survey
The school's mission is to equip students to serve and transform their communities by delivering excellent Christian education designed to cultivate their character, nurture their God-given abilities, and prepare them for life, including tertiary education.
The ICS team aims to partner with you to fulfill our school's academic and Christian mission with excellence and with the whole child in mind. As we are well into the school year, this is also an excellent time to get your feedback about how the school is doing in the delivery of its mission in your child's HOMEROOM and CHINESE LANGUAGE Classes, and After School Program.
The ES Mission Delivery Survey (link below) is designed to seek parent perspectives regarding communication, workload, student well-being, and the delivery of our spiritual and academic mission. The administration will use this feedback to help evaluate, maintain, and improve the high-quality Christian education you expect from ICS.
Please click the link below to complete the Elementary School Mission Delivery Survey.
This survey should take no more than 10 minutes per student to complete. Please complete a separate survey for each child you have attending ICS Elementary. Thank you for your participation and support!
Blessings,
Keith Welch

Safe Dismissals & Pickup
Thank you to all of our parents and responsible adults picking up their students showing the physical plastic pick up card to teachers to ensure that children are going home with the right person. A couple reminders to make sure we continue to have a safe dismissal.
Show the Physical Pickup Card - The adult picking up the child must show the physical pick up card provided by the school NOT a photo of the card on your mobile device.
Lost Card - If you have lost your card or need an additional card for a third responsible adult, please email the school office (elementary@ics.edu.hk)
Sibling Pickup - if you would like a sibling (Grade 4 or 5 with self dismissal card or secondary student) to pick up their younger brother or sister from line, you must email your child’s teacher and the Elementary office with your arrangement (one off, scheduled or daily) AND the older sibling must have a physical pickup card provided by the school.
Change of Pickup Arrangement - If your child is going home a different way (bus, walking) or with a different person than normal (friend, person that does not have the physical card), you must contact your child’s teacher and school office to make arrangements before noon on the day of the change.
Thank you for your kind attention to the protocols designed to keep our students safe and send them home with the right person.

HAN FU DAY
In anticipation of the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival, the World Languages Department is excited to announce a Han Fu Day celebration on September 29th for Secondary and October 3rd for Elementary. We encourage all students to wear their prepared Hanfu (Chinese traditional clothing) to embrace and celebrate our rich cultural heritage during this festive occasion.
On this day, students may choose to wear Hanfu to school; alternatively, they are required to wear their school uniforms. We believe this event will provide students with a wonderful opportunity to learn about and appreciate traditional Chinese culture while deepening their understanding of the significance of the Mid-Autumn Festival.
We invite you, as parents, to engage in this celebration by preparing Hanfu that reflects the unique characteristics of Chinese culture. Your involvement will not only enhance your child's experience but also foster a sense of pride in their heritage. Whether it's selecting a beautiful Hanfu or sharing stories about its significance, your participation will enrich this cultural celebration.
Join us for a friendly coffee chat with our ES Principal on Sept 26 at 8am. This is a wonderful chance to connect, share ideas, and discuss your child's school experience together in a relaxed setting.
After signing up, don't forget to download a QR code to enter the building on the School Portal by clicking on the "ICS Event Tickets" icon.
The venue details and Google Meet link will be sent to the school email of the registered parents closer to the date.

Dear Parents,
It is a pleasure to invite you to participate in this year's family time in the ES Library! Every Tuesday and Thursday, "Books & Bonding" will be an opportunity for you to spend quality time with your child/ren by diving into the wonderful world of literacy together! Come explore the elementary library, search for exciting books, read together on our cozy cushions, or complete the engaging table activities. This is a fantastic opportunity to share in the joy of reading and writing as a family.
All students are required to have an adult attend the session, except for those students with a self-dismissal card. To ensure a meaningful experience, we kindly ask adults to refrain from using cell phones and conversing with each other during this time. Your undivided attention to your child/ren will make it all the more special!
The sign-up link for every session in a given month can be found on the ICS Parent Portal under ICS Event Tickets. The sign-ups for September are posted now. Sign-ups for each week are due every Monday at 11:59pm, no matter if you are signing up for the Tuesday or Thursday session that week. Please note the specific date you would like to sign up for and know you are welcome to join one or both sessions each week.
If you have any questions, please email Mrs. Silber at silbers@ics.edu.hk.
We look forward to seeing you and your child/children in the library!
Last year we launched our new parent resource page! We want parents to feel empowered and equipped with the knowledge and resources they need to support their child's growth and success. This page provides resources, and we hope to help parents navigate the challenges of parenting and support your child's overall well-being. Make sure to check out our new parent page HERE!
