Welcome back! To those of you who are joining the ICS community, a special welcome to you in the first Weekly Warrior of the academic year.
I hope you enjoyed the summer, wherever you spent it. Mrs Seward and I very much enjoyed taking 40 ICS students on the UK Study Tour, and I want to thank Mr and Mrs Simons, Ms Asuncion, and Ms Wong for giving up some of their holiday to help chaperone boys and girls. It has been so lovely to hear students in the first week back express their appreciation for the love and care they received from our staff, and even more than that, how they grew in their faith in Jesus Christ.
We talked a lot on the tour about gratitude, humility and listening. When we appreciate the gift of salvation in Christ our hearts are grateful, in small things as well as big. Learning to ‘count our blessings’ leads to humility. All we have is a gift, and we are not the centre of history, rather Jesus is the centre of His Story. Humble hearts are listening hearts, and when we learn to seek God’s Kingdom first in that spirit, we will find that everything else is added as well.
May I repeat our Board of Trustees’ prayer for us: “Father, we thank you for your grace and mercy, your power and your wisdom to lead ICS as we enter into a new school year. We thank you that you watch over us and keep us from beginning to end. We welcome you to ICS as the Lord of the school! May your face shine on all the teachers, students, staff, and families each day more and more. Amen.”
Amen and amen, and blessings to you all

For those dropping off students and picking them up with a privately owned vehicle please be reminded of the following to ensure safety and a steady flow of traffic:
Morning Drop Off
Have students ready (bags, instruments, lunches, etc.) to exit independently on the passenger side of the car. Avoid getting out to open the boot/trunk or doors for students.
At morning arrivals pull forward as far as possible to drop students to allow more cars into the garage.
When leaving the garage, turn left and follow the cul-du-sac to exit.
Please avoid U-turns or 3 point turns
Do not double or triple-park along the roadside to allow for proper traffic flow.
Afternoon Pickup
Please do not stop in the road in front of the garage entrance
Avoid double or triple parking so cars may pass and the flow of traffic is not interrupted.
If your student is not there and ready to enter the car and there is no space to park please exit the cul-du-sac and return later.
Please avoid U-turns or 3-point turns - follow the cul-du-sac to exit
