Dear ICS Community,
Each week at ICS, our campus is filled with moments of faith, hope, and repeated times where God is clearly at work. If you find yourself in the theater during a chapel service, you’ll see students from ages 5-18 stepping up to lead our community in prayers, worship, and sharing God’s Word. These chapels are not just weekly events, but opportunities for our students to be active participants in God’s story. Whether it’s a first grader singing for the first time on stage or an 11th grader sharing a testimony, each voice reflects God as part of the lives of our students.
Bible classes at every grade level give students space to explore Scripture, wrestle with big questions, and discover how God’s truth connects with their lives. Behind the scenes, it’s the commitment of our staff gathering every morning for devotions and prayer that sets the tone for all we do. We begin each day seeking God together, believing that education rooted in faith shapes not only minds, but hearts.
As this new season of autumn settles in, I’d like to gently challenge each family to find a moment each day to keep God first at home. Share a short prayer around the table, read a Bible verse together, or take a moment to reflect as a family on God’s goodness this week. Take time for those bedtime prayers, and have a conversation about where you’ve seen God at work this week. As I’ve shared before, I’ve come to realize that when we share our personal stories of God’s guidance, hope, and love, it anchors our children in a world full of competing voices. Sometimes, it’s only later that we recognize those special “God moments,” as my mother-in-law calls them, but they’re worth sharing with our children, even when they feel somewhat ordinary. Our faith as parents and God’s reliability as our Redeemer speak powerfully into our children’s lives.
At ICS, we’re committed to partnering with you, not just for academic success, but for growth in every part of your child’s journey: spiritual, social, and emotional. When we place God at the center, all personal growth is filled with deeper purpose and joy. Thank you for partnering with us to raise up a generation who sees their lives as part of God’s unfolding story.
In Christ,
Erin Johnson

Jane Lo’s journey with words and their power began at the University of British Columbia, where she studied English Literature and Religious Studies. Her fascination with ancient texts led her to the University of Toronto, where she earned a Master's degree in Biblical Hebrew. This passion for story and meaning ultimately guided her to a fulfilling career in the classroom. She has been teaching English since 2010 and currently teaches at Stewards Pooi Kei College. When she not teaching, she is either chasing after her two wild and wonderful children, Theo and Toviah, with my husband, Don, or weaving her own stories—she is the author of the novels All I Ever Wanted and A Summer Like That.
