Dear Parents
As we settle into a new year, I just wanted to let you know about a few special dates coming up.
Family Fun Day – February 28, 2026
This year the Family Fun Day will be held on Saturday February 28 at the ICS Shek Mun campus. This is a community events for Kindergarten and Elementary families to relax and play together. Please refer to the poster on our homepage for details. So, save the date!
Kindergarten Spring Concert – March 14, 2026
Each year Kindergarten holds a Spring Concert, this is held on a Saturday morning. All the Kindergarten students will be singing together, first with their class and then together as a whole Kindergarten on the stage in the theater at the Shek Mun campus. This year we will have the concert on Saturday March 14. Parents should bring their child to the Shek Mun campus for 9:30am in readiness for the concert to start at 10am. The concert lasts about 45 minutes, so expect to leave Shek Mun by 11am.
The audience for this event will be the parents and brothers and sisters of Kindergarten students. We would like parents to have the best seats possible to see their child to perform and to be able to be able to reserve seats in the theater (Kindergarten students will not need a seat in the theater). We understand that all your family members will also want to watch this concert, however we ask that you do not invite grandparents, domestic helpers or other friends or family. We will have a live theater feed and recording of the concert for the children to share with grandparents afterwards. Therefore we assume that most families will only require 2 or 3 seats in the theater (KG child will not need a seat) and therefore will have sufficient capacity for everyone. A link to the ticketing system for the event will be sent out in early February.
Rehearsal for Kindergarten Spring Concert – March 13, 2026
The day before the concert (Friday March 13) we will have a rehearsal at the Shek Mun campus to help the children become familiar with the campus, the theater and the stage.
ALL morning and afternoon children should come in the afternoon to the Shek Mun campus. There will be no classes at the Kindergarten campus on that day. The exact details of drop off arrangements will be emailed to parents after Chinese New Year as we need to coordinate with the school bus company and ICS Elementary. Approximate times will be 12:00pm to 2:30pm, PM class bus riders will ride the school bus as usual. AM bus riders will need to make their own way to the campus and home again.
Two weeks after the concert we will have Parent Teacher Conferences on March 27 and 28 (morning).
Sign ups will be sent out immediately after Chinese New Year.
Another big event for the end of the year is our R2 Farewell Celebration which is scheduled for June 11 2026 at 5pm. This is a late afternoon celebration of the time the R2 children (R1 do not attend) have spent in Kindergarten and an opportunity for us to pray for all the children as they move on. R2s will perform in the theater of the Shek Mun campus and have photographs taken as a class and individually and receive an end of Kindergarten certificate. We don’t call this a graduation as at ICS, only High School students graduate. This event is for R2 only, therefore we will have more space in the theater and you may invite grandparents or other family to join in the celebration. Further details of the morning rehearsal and arrival times and details (including information on how to get tickets) will be given out in May.
Please mark these dates on your calendars.
Blessings,
Gillian Wu
Kindergarten Assistant Principal

If a different adult is coming to pick up your child from school, please notify the Kindergarten Office giving us their full name, Hong Kong Identity card number and their telephone number.
All people coming to pick up your child must:
Be on the authorized list on PowerSchool i.e. a parent has given us permission to release their child to that person.
Bring the purple pick-up card (original card, photographs will not be accepted).
In absence of the pick-up card, for persons we do not recognize we will either - check their Hong Kong Identity Card or call the phone number you have given us.
If we are unsure of the identity of the person picking up your child, we will check their identity.
If the person is not listed on PowerSchool, and you have not informed us, we will call parents to confirm.
If your child usually takes the bus home and changes to being picked up from school, please notify us. Please ensure that the person coming to school is on our authorized list. If in doubt, please give us their name
If you change or employ a new Domestic Helper, please remove your previous helper or add a new helper to the pick-up contacts on PowerSchool.
Parents, be empowered and equipped with the knowledge and resources you need to support your child's growth and success. This page provides resources, and we hope to help parents navigate the challenges of parenting and support your child's overall well-being. Make sure to check out our parent page HERE!
If your child is sick, please keep your child at home to rest and recover and notify the school by completing the relevant e-collect form on PowerSchool of:
Your child’s absence / number of days your child is likely to be off school
Your child’s body temperature (please state actual temperature, not just “has a fever”)
Once recovering from a fever (38C or above), please let us know the day and time your child’s fever subsided without medication. If you do not specify a time, we will use the time from your email. We can then specify how soon your child may return to school (48 hours after fever subsided).
Your child’s symptoms (not just “unwell”).
If your child has Chickenpox, Hand Foot and Mouth or other notifiable disease - please send in a doctor’s note confirming diagnosis. We also require a doctor’s note stating that your child is fit to return to school.
Red Eyes—conjunctivitis can be very infectious. If your child has red eyes, please give us a doctor’s note stating that your child is not infectious before they can come to school.
Department of Health requirements state that if a child has a fever (38C or above), or repeated diarrhea they need to stay home for at least 48 hours after the symptoms have subsided (without medication).
Even though your child’s fever may have gone, a child may still have a runny nose or bad cough and are not fit to return to school. Please keep them at home to rest.
Please do not send your child to school if they are still taking medication following an illness. The medicine may make your child sleepy and they still need time to recover and rest at home.
If your child has recovered but still has a mild cough (not chesty or coughing up phlegm), they may return to school but should wear a face mask.
