Depending on the update type, you may postpone the installation within the allowed company-defined deferral period.
When a restart is required, macOS will notify you.
Once the allowed deferral period expires, your Mac will automatically install the update and restart if necessary.
Save any open work.
Close all running applications.
Select Restart Now when you are ready to complete the update.
If you are unable to restart immediately, choose Later (if available) and restart your Mac before the deferral period expires.
Restart your Mac regularly.
Keep your Mac connected to power during updates.
Ensure your Mac remains connected to the internet until updates are complete.
