Dear Community Members,
After much concerted efforts by our 50th Anniversary Team and the response from our Community following the Eid, we are happy to report that we are on our way to enjoy a wonderful celebration and therefore thankfulness and gratitude to all are in order.
Our attendance numbers are now very substantial as we are just a few days away from the "Big Day." Many of you said 'YES' and marked your calendars to celebrate with us 50 years of CAS' distinction and confirmed our pride and great sense of community and belonging to CAS. We thank all of you!
Many fond memories will be shared as former Board Members, Instructional Staff, Alumni and our current community mingle together around a wonderful dinner and first-class entertainment. During the evening of the 27th of May, an auction will be held with Art master pieces beautifully made by CAS students and Moroccan famous artists in addition to other valuable Auction items.
We have beautiful raffle prizes donated by our partners and parents. Make sure to get your Raffle Ticket or tickets at Mr. Mostafa Abrouch’s office as soon as possible. Each Raffle Ticket costs 100 dhs. You might be the winner of an amazing prize during the Gala on May 27th. !!!!
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the 50th Anniversary Committee members who have been working diligently and tirelessly and spending countless long hours to make sure no detail was overlooked. Heartfelt thanks go out to Fatiha Sajid who traveled back and forth from Nice and who graciously took from her personal time to set up the guidelines and establish the master plan for the Gala Committee to implement and follow before she took leave to take care for her regular chores.
Many other Community Members have been assisting as well, and we thank all of them.
Today, our Seniors finished their IB exams and are almost ready to embark on new journeys. We wish them the very best of luck and cannot wait to see them on the stage on June 3rd for their big day!
Our younger sixth grade students will be celebrating their promotion to Upper School on June 10th and we are just as excited to celebrate with them. Go Cobras!
I also would like to thank the Board of Governors and the Finance Committee Members for sacrificing and staying late almost every day to take care of the school financial matters and prepare the school budget 2023-2024 that will be presented during the next General Assembly.

We are used to having our wonderful PTC members take us to Wonder Lands. Again, our PTC members have been recently very busy for the pleasure of our students and staff likewise. During these last months, they organized an amazing Ramadan day during which students and staff enjoyed the taste of Moroccan culture. On behalf of all CAS Parents, the PTC showed their appreciation for instructional staff by organizing a wonderful breakfast, lunch and snacks. Thank you PTC members!
As the End of Year is fast approaching, kindly pay attention to the correspondences sent by the respective Principals, Department Heads or Grade Level Coordinators as there might be some news or deadlines you do not want to miss!
Last but not least, please follow the link to the School Calendar 2023-2024

It's hard to believe we only have four more weeks in the 22-23 school year...but there's still plenty to learn and accomplish!
A huge thank you to Giselle Gruen and Imane El Kadari on their thoughtful planning and preparation of this past week's Explore Morocco! After a three year hiatus, it was such a joyful week celebrating Moroccan culture and heritage.
There are many events happening in the Lower School over the next four weeks so please pay close attention to any announcements and reminders from your child's teacher.
Here's to remaining strong to the finish!

Dear Students and Families,
On behalf of the entire faculty and staff, I extend my warmest congratulations to each and every Senior on successfully completing your IB exams. This momentous achievement marks the culmination of years of hard work, dedication, and perseverance, and we are proud of your accomplishments.
I would also like to express our deepest gratitude to your teachers and the IB coordinator for their support, guidance, and commitment to your education. Their expertise, passion, and tireless efforts have played an integral role in shaping your academic journey and preparing you for this milestone.
US Exams will extend from June 1st to June 8th, and I wish all the best to the US Students. I also take this opportunity to encourage all students to approach their exams with seriousness and dedication. Final exams are an integral part of the learning process, and they provide an opportunity for students to showcase their knowledge and understanding. Preparing well and engaging in focused study sessions will not only enhance their performance but also equip them with valuable skills for future academic endeavors.
Thank you for your cooperation in ensuring a smooth and successful exam week. Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to the school administration or your child's teachers.
There are so many happenings these current weeks in the US division. And I would like to feature one of them: Our encounter with CorpsofAfrica:
We extend our gratitude to Mr. Mahmoudi for his captivating and inspiring presentation about Corps Africa. It was a pleasure to have him join us this past Wednesday, sharing his insights and experiences. For those who may be unfamiliar, Corps Africa is a remarkable organization that aims to empower communities through volunteer service. Corps Africa volunteers are dedicated individuals who commit to living and working in underserved communities for a period of 12 months. They focus on community-led development projects, addressing crucial needs such as education, health, and environmental sustainability. We are thrilled to announce that we are partnering with Corps Africa to offer our students the opportunity to become Junior Corps Africa Volunteers. Interested sophomores, juniors, and seniors will receive more details about this incredible life learning experience in the near future. Through this collaboration, we aim to instill a sense of empathy, global citizenship, and leadership skills among our students as they embark on this transformative journey with Corps Africa.
Thank you for your support as we approach the end of year.
Best regards,
Si Mohamed Sarhane

In mid-June, some 9th and 10th grade students will travel to London to enhance what they have learned about Shakespeare in their English classes this year. Students will attend a performance of A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Globe Theatre, take a tour of the Globe Theatre, visit the British Museum, and ride the London Eye. The lucky students are eager to take that flight and embrace Shakespeare's City where his career took off: London.
Feedbacks about this amazing trip will be shared in due course.

Within the scope of her French project about Uniforms, Yasmine Anaboui in Grade 7 explains hereafter the idea behind choosing this project before interviewing Mr. Randolph:
" It is a daily occurrence for students to be stopped if they do not wear uniforms or follow dress code rules at the gate. As this policy is frequently discussed among students in our community, students often express discomfort or dissatisfaction while wearing uniforms. I conducted this interview for my article about the uniform at school in order to illustrate how it contributes to our community and help others understand how it can help us avoid everyday problems that are not frequently discussed. Since M. Randolph is the director of the school, I wanted to know about his perspective on how the uniform contributes to our community and make students aware of its importance. The purpose of this paper is to discuss how the school views our school uniform policy on behalf of the students and the school department, as well as how it may contribute to our peers".
The interview was quite productive as Mr. Randolph explained to Yasmine that: I don't think that the uniform is something particular to our school, it's prevalent in many schools. The uniform is something that keeps everybody basically ‘looking the same’, rather than being distracted by other types of clothing. That's why we insist on students' compliance with school policy about Uniforms.
This is a great project Yasmine and we are looking forward to more feedback about your interviews with other Faculty members.
What an experience for our LS Students last week! Each Grade from Nursery to Grade 6 had the opportunity to explore one aspect of Moroccan culture, landscape, food, shopping or other aspects. Thank you Ms. Giselle Gruen and Ms. Imane Kadiri for organizing, and thank you to all the LS Teachers, and to any Community member involved in this huge event.
We would like to inform our parents that we ran a bid for the Uniforms, evaluated their products and that the actual supplier, our current supplier, met the criteria for which we are requiring. After the bid, we met our actual supplier to clarify and upgrade our needs for a change in some of the Tee Shirts to have longer sleeves and to change the percentage of cotton and polyester to ensure that some of the components do not fade as quickly with repeated washing.
Our current supplier will be launching an interactive website and parents can start placing their orders directly via the website as early as the beginning of June.
Thank you PTC for these two amazing events and other events
Do you need a tutor? I'm excited to announce that I've assembled a team of experienced tutors that caters to grades 7 and up at international schools like CAS. Since I left CAS to pursue a PhD at Harvard, I realized that CAS could benefit from a strong tutoring program; so I started an online tutoring service. We know the IB curriculum well and have graduate degrees from Ivy League universities like Harvard, Columbia, and MIT. I would love to stay involved in the CAS community through tutoring and help students enroll in the competitive universities of their dreams insha'Allah. Please go to internationaltutors.org to learn more or email me directly at ccherubim@internationaltutors.org!
