Dear Parents:
We are thrilled to be back and we hope that all of you had a wonderful vacation! We welcome all new to CAS families and our new staff members as well and we are looking forward to another great year!
Kindly note that Casablanca American School is not concerned by yesterday's Moroccan Government announcement about schools starting on the 10th of September. We will proceed as planned and test on Wednesday and start school on Thursday. Please refer to the schedules of Ms. Phillips and Mr. Sarhane.
Last week, we sent out an email about Covid Protocols that we instituted last year and that will remain in place for this academic year. These protocols will be enhanced by the Antigenic tests that we will administer to all students on Wednesday, August 25th. Please pay attention to the times allotted to each grade level starting with Nursery students. All tests will be carried out at the front gate. If you are coming to school for any other purpose than the Antigenic tests, please use the backgate.
Please see the Drive-by-Testing schedule below:

Kindergarten – 08H30 sharp

We are planning on a Face-To-Face return to school as last year was entirely too overwhelming for parents, students and staff and our students have lost in their educational journey due to this pandemic.
According to the Ministry of Education, the Government will be proceeding to vaccinate all students from the age of 12 through 17. As we get more information regarding this vaccination program, we will communicate this to our community. This initiative is a Moroccan measure to address the spread of the Covid Virus and its variants. Therefore, we encourage parents to start discussing the importance of vaccinations with their children ahead of time to prepare them for their eventual vaccination. Vaccinations for COVID-19 should be viewed as no different than required vaccinations for Polio, Mumps or the German Measles.
Cafeteria update:
Our Cafeteria services will start on Monday, August 30th, 2021. If you are planning to use this service, please refer to the Art Cantine communication below. For Thursday and Friday of this week, kindly make sure you send a snack and a lunch with your child as no food will be served these two days.
Uniforms Update:
For those parents who have already placed their orders and are awaiting their child's uniform, the Uniform Supplier is present at school;
Monday August 16th through Friday, August 27th from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm
For those parents who have not yet placed their orders, the Uniform Supplier will be taking orders Monday, August 16th through Monday, August 23rd from 8:30 am to 12:00 am.
Please be reminded that CAS uniforms are required of all students. If your child does not possess a new uniform, they must wear last year’s uniform until their new order order arrives at school. Apart from new-to-CAS students, those who are not wearing a CAS uniform will not be admitted to school on August 26th. The Uniform Supplier will also communicate to us which students have ordered uniforms from August 1st onward and which students still have not placed their orders. We remind everyone that the Uniform Supplier has been available to take orders for new uniforms since last May.
Furthermore, as of Monday, September 6th, your child may not attend school if their order to secure the new CAS uniform has not been placed with the Uniform Supplier.
Condolences
Finally, We also would like to present our condolences to our colleagues Bachir Niah, , Naima Elaraiki, Fatima-Zahra Benzaineb and Sabina Sitoianu for the loss of their respective fathers. We are thinking of them during these hard times.

Dear Community members,
We would like to thank all of our community members who have been actively participating in the PTC by managing to bring support and fun into our school in spite of the challenges due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It is that time of the year again where the PTC welcomes new members to its committee. The elections for the next school year officers will take place the first two weeks of September 2021.
As indicated in its mission statement, the PTC is “committed to enhancing, enriching, promoting and supporting the education of our children and fostering a sense of community within our school". In order to achieve this mission, a strong collaboration between parents, teachers, and the school administration is needed.
In the past, the PTC has been in charge of creating multiple events such as: the New Parents Welcome Breakfast, the annual Back to School Barbecue, the Halloween Celebration, the various Christmas events for students and teachers alike, the teachers appreciation events, the Spring Fair, the end of the year Music Fun Day and so forth.
We hope to see many more volunteers ....to continue creating uplifting and building fun events for our community!
Parent volunteers of the PTC cannot function effectively without the assistance of teachers and admin staff as key members of the committee so we encourage them to join too!
If you are interested in joining and giving a helping hand, it is important that you attend this meeting! Please email (ptc@cas.ac.ma) us to indicate your attendance so we can plan a Covid friendly space accordingly.
Thank you for your time, interest and support,
PTC Team
