As we are looking forward to another stretch of the school year together, I take this opportunity to once again wish everyone a prosperous year and inform you that I will be in the U.S. recruiting new instructional staff from January 19th to January 31st. In my absence, please contact Mr. Simohamed Sarhane for any urgent matters. You are always welcome to send me an email as well should there be a need to do so.
This past Wednesday, we held a remembrance honoring Mr. Andre Evans, who left us suddenly on December 21st.
Tributes from his colleagues and his students were amazing, and full of emotions. Tears were shed which certainly indicated how much love he shared with all that knew him. His legacy as a World traveler, a compassionate and simply a joyful human being are undeniable!
Despite this sad circumstance, we were fortunate to have Hannah Klapprodt, Kelli Wick, Joseph Van Deren and Ms. Rachel Willen cover some of Mr. Evans' classes. In this regard, we also sincerely thank all the Upper School Science Department for their help and assistance as we dealt with this loss.
As announced before, Mr. Chris Roose will be at CAS next week to audit our security systems, train, explain and discuss security measures and risk management to our staff and other key CAS partners. We are organizing a session for parents on Thursday, January 16th at 8:00 am and would appreciate if you can join us in the Moroccan Salon.
We have sent the official call and agenda announcing the Ordinary General Assembly that will take place, Tuesday, January 14th, at 6:30 pm in the Anne Osman Theater. Please mark your calendar and join us so we may reach quorum and to vote on the different items mentioned in the Agenda.

Varsity AAC Boys vs Varsity CAS Boys
JV AAC Boys vs JV CAS Boys
Thursday afternoon the JV and Varsity Boys and Varsity Girls Basketball teams battled AAC in three matches in the Randy Dome. An enthusiastic home crowd led by Mr. Randolph himself cheered and chanted the Cobras to victories in two contests. The JV boys benefited from a stifling defense and aggression near the basket to overpower AAC for a 21-8 victory. The varsity girls, despite playing with a limited number of students, never gave up and nearly completed a comeback. We can anticipate improvement from them all season. To finish the night, our varsity Cobra boys defeated AAC 23-18. Tenacious defense, controlled passing, and a balanced scoring attack helped the Cobras move their record on the season to 2-0. I would like to thank our coaches for all the extra time and effort they have put into coaching our basketball teams this year. The season continues for both JV and varsity boys next Thursday against GWA.

This also marks the time where they open the doors to new members that would like to join and run the committee! We would like to take this opportunity to thank them for all of their hard work and personal time dedicated for our children. We encourage you to participate!

We wish to thank all the parents who turned in their signed photograph/video consent forms that will allow us to photograph or video, publish and share pictures, anecdotes and the great happenings that take place every day at CAS. Hard copies of the permission form are also available in the Director's office. So please stop by to say Hi and sign the form. If for some reason, you would rather not have your child/ren's pictures on our Social walls, we will make sure this is respected, but we need to be informed in writing first.
