Dear Community Members,
We are publishing this special edition of the What’s Up Cobras as we would like to share with you our first week with students on campus. Please make sure you visit our gallery entitled: CAS in a glance this week!
We would like to congratulate our Social Studies IB Teacher and Department Head, Ms. Melissa Mitchem, for the birth of little Mara. Motherhood is special and both mother and daughter are rejoicing each other’s company fondly.
Condolences to Ali Chahid, our LS Arabic Teacher, for the loss of his mother. We all support Mr. Chahid and his family in this time of grief.
Finally, if you do not wish for your child’s photo to be published in our different social media platforms, please let us know.

This year marked the third year of CAS' summer reading program, and it was our most successful yet. Classics like The Grapes of Wrath and Little Women, newer reads like One of Us is Lying and American Gods, and even inspiration books like The Mamba Mentality and The 48 Laws of Power all made their way into beach bags, summer carry-ons or car back seats. Students indicate they read nearly 500 books, grades 7-11, once again showing the dedication our CAS students and their families have toward keeping skills sharp all summer long. Thank you to all who participated in the reading, the weekly forums, and the submitted projects.
We anticipate a great year moving forward!

NEASC (the New England Association of Schools and Colleges) accreditation enables international schools to maintain standards of excellence. This process is all about conducting professional collaborative self-assessment by getting all stakeholders to discuss the school’s mission and vision. Our upcoming visit, scheduled for the spring of 2022, will allow us to get feedback from the visiting members and establish plans for future improvement.

We are delighted to welcome you back to school and look forward to a wonderful new year with you. We, at admissions, are busy helping all new parents and students navigate their way within our community and introduce them to the CAS spirit. As an alumnus, I am especially proud to still feel the same sense of family that makes us so special, and that achieving academic excellence is still just as important. Whether you are new here or have been here for a while, do make sure to stop by my office for a quick hello and introduce yourself. Our door at admissions is always open.

Admissions Officer
