Hello Everyone:
While we all were expecting to be able to start Face-to Face Instruction at CAS last Monday, we unfortunately learned late Sunday night that all schools in Casablanca would be closed for the next two weeks. We had started online learning on September 1st and this will continue until we receive further instructions from the Ministry about the start of schooling. Once we are informed then we shall communicate the orientation schedule for Grades Three to Twelve. The Ministry of Education has dictated that all students must receive orientation prior to coming to school. We have instituted many new COVID mitigating measures here at CAS, which must be communicated to our students. Whether here at school or home or out and about, please remember to wear masks, wash your hands frequently and practice social distancing to halt the spread of this deadly virus. Please stay safe!
For your information, CAS has recently had PCR tests performed on all staff members and the results were all negative.
Kindly be reminded that the deadline for paying tuition and fees without penalty is Tuesday, September 15th.

Dear CAS Community,
It is always a pleasure to communicate with you via our what’s up Cobra.
This is our second week in distance learning. Kudos to teachers for a successful start of this school year despite all the inconveniences engendered by Covid-19 pandemic. Kudos for students for their enthusiasm for learning. My regards to parents for their support.
Our distance learning has been going well with minor technological problems. Students have been introduced to the syllabi and teachers have started their new units. CAS is committed to its mission of providing quality instruction and best delivery of our curriculum.
We are looking forward to receiving our students on campus because we believe that classroom learning is the most effective mode of instruction.
Needless to remind you that you are more than welcome to contact me should you have any inquiries.
Two upcoming events in Upper School. Please mark your agenda:
Professional Day on September 16 (students will only have their three first classes)
Upper School Back to School Night on September 23
More details will be communicated to you soon
Ms. Phillips is in transit to Casablanca from South Carolina, USA, and should be with us on Monday. She is most anxious to return and we cannot wait to see her at CAS again.
All grade 9, 10 and 11 students, and selected grade 7 and 8 students, will be taking the PSAT/NMSQT at the school on Saturday, October 17, 2020. If you have any questions about the PSAT, please email our College Counselor, Rana Haroun, at rharoun@cas.ac.ma

This year, the IB results generated many discussions mainly due to an absence of complete transparency when questions came on how the overall grade was determined for each subject. The exclusive formula based on which the final grades were decided was not revealed, except the inclusion of something called “historical data” of each school. Over the entire summer, joining other schools worldwide, we have had several discussions with the IB organization, asking clarifications and reviewing some of the results that we could prove as inaccurate. Our students' grades were finalized on August 25th, and our success rate increased considerably compared with the initial results we received on July 5th.
For any questions related to IB please contact Alina Zamfirescu, our IB Coordinator: azamfirescu@cas.ac.ma
The Cafeteria is currently closed and will be open once on campus face-to-face learning will be resumed. More information will be communicated when necessary.
