Dear Community Members,
Welcome again to another great Edition of the What’s Up Cobras!
First, I would like to sincerely thank the PTC members who have been working tirelessly to contribute to our wonderful CAS spirit, through the events and the decorations they have been displaying. The PTC spent hours planning and decorating the gymnasium with a traditional Fall setting look for our recent Thanksgiving dinner and assisted us in the layout of the gym and placement of our drink table. They are also planning more events in the two next coming weeks for staff and students alike. We certainly feel spoiled with all of their attention!
Thank you to our PTC:
Asmaa Chaoui
Hind Bouayad
Meriem Mestari
Kaoutar Jamai
Kaoutar El Youssefi
Sara Jamaleddine
Loubna Guerraoui
Fatima-Zahra Laafoura
Diaa Ibnoussina
Hanane Monferrer
Fatiha Sajid
I also would like to take this opportunity to thank our special parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fadile, for the beautiful Christmas Tree their family provided, which has been set up by our PTC and Support Staff at our Fountain Area for the pleasure of our community and guest visitors.
Winter Break is getting closer and, unfortunately, to date we do not have any additional news from the authorities about Covid restrictions due to the threat of the new Covid variant, Omnicron. We, therefore, ask our parents to take all available precautionary measures if they are planning to travel or take their children abroad because of the many uncertainties we face. We are planning to hold another Drive-By antigenic test on Monday, January 10th, or upon the return from our Winter Break and we count on your collaboration to bring your children to school according to the schedule that we will communicate to you shortly.
As announced before, the lost and found will be displayed every Friday from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm at the back gate. If your child has lost any clothing item, please make sure you look for it in our Lost and Found.
We extend our very best wishes for a Happy Hanukkah to the members of our Jewish community. May these holidays bring you peace and health.

Equipping our US students with exceptional values in addition to academic skills to face the World with confidence, responsibility and commitment is our goal. Because at CAS, we foster democracy in a nurturing way, our Upper School Student Council held their elections, and we congratulate the following members who have been elected to serve on the Council for the 2021-2022 academic year:
Elias Filali Chahad: President
Nour Azmi: Vice-President
Rami Bakjaji: Secretary
Sarah Nejm: Activity Coordinator
Rokia Youssefi: Treasurer
The objectives of the Student Council are:
To initiate, implement, and complete projects and activities which will be of help to the school, the students, the faculty, and the administration.
Assisting with induction and/or mentoring for new students
To develop and provide opportunities for leadership and service in the school.
To encourage the personal growth of leaders so that they learn effective methods of leadership.
To contribute to the educational experiences of students by providing them with positive involvement in their school.
The representatives become the liaisons between their particular class and the council. For some, this is their first step, and many find it to be very rewarding.
To increase school pride and provide outlets for student fun. Some of these activities include planning and hosting school dances, organizing spirit weeks, hosting parties for the high school students, and providing encouragement for our students
during their school sporting and cultural activities.
There is a consistent relationship between academics and non-academic experiences; between learning for now and learning for life. Congratulations again to our young leaders. I’m positive they will organize, lead, and provide encouragements with kindness and grace.
Go Cobras!

We are in the homestretch to the Winter Break and with that brings the Lower School Winter Concert. As we attempt to return certain events, as safely as possible, we invite you to campus on Thursday, December 16.
Nursery-G2 Winter Concert @ 9:00
G3-5 Winter Concert @ 10:30
Both productions will be in the Anne Osman Theater. Due to limited space in the theater, we can only accommodate one family member as a child’s guest.
In the interest of safety and theater space thank you for the following:
Use the main theater entrance, closest to Route de la Mecque
Masks must be correctly worn at all times on campus
Present your vaccine pass at the theater entrance
Only ONE family member (parent or grandparent) may attend
No siblings (i.e. from Upper School) may attend
Remain as an audience member for the duration of the production
Thank you for departing campus immediately following the concert. We ask that students remain on campus for the remainder of the school day. Please do NOT take your child home as they still have up to five hours of instruction in the day.
Mr. Henzi and Mr. Nelsen have been working with our singers and musicians as they prepare for the return of a live concert. Please be on the lookout for specific costume requests. We thank the PTC and Art Department for providing theater and stage decor. We hope to film the concert for those who can not attend to view at a later time.
As with everything since 2020, the event is subject to change or cancelation, dependent on government announcements and mandates.

Please be informed that all Overdue Library Books must be returned to the US Library by Wednesday the 8th of December, failure to do so, will cause the Report Card of the student to be withheld.
