The varsity and JV boys basketball teams passed and defended their way to two victories over the visiting GWA Mustangs on Thursday afternoon. The varsity hoppers used strong off-ball movement, aggression on the offensive boards, and defensive intensity to steadily march to a 34-24 victory. The Cobras played an unselfish brand of basketball in a game filled with assisted layins. After a slow start, the JV boys found their rhythm with an aggressive passing attack against GWA's zone defense. They held onto a late lead using strong cuts to the basket for high percentage shots and an aggressive offensive rebounding scheme. Ultimately, the Cobras prevailed with a 19-17 victory. Next week GWA and CAS will have another round of matches at GWA before JV hosts a round-robin tournament on Saturday, January 25. Thank you for your continued support of our Cobra athletics!
