TESDA Sibugay conducts S/W on supervision of CBT in TVIs

A total of 24 participants from 15 institutions in Zamboanga Sibugay attended the three-day Seminar-Workshop on Supervision of Competency-Based Training in Technical Vocational Institutions (TVIs) held at the TESDA Sibugay Provincial Office in Ipil on February 18-20, 2014.

The seminar-workshop is part of the continuous capability building programs for TVIs to upgrade the delivery of competency-based training. Specifically, this activity is designed to provide heads of instruction, department heads, and TESD lead trainers with the underpinning knowledge and broad range of responsibilities as they take on supervisory role. Aside from increasing their effectiveness and improving their job performance, this program would also allow them to be in a better position to assist trainers in the delivery of competency-based trainings and the conduct of institutional assessments.

During the three days, the participants were provided theoretical inputs on Quality Teacher Development (ITE Experience), Supervisory Framework for TVET, Supervisory Matrix, and Coaching, Counseling, and Mentoring (CCM) techniques. The participants presented supervisory work re-entry plans and supervisory matrices at the end of the program.

Dir. Lorenzo Emanuel L. Guillermo, the provincial director of TESDA Zamboanga Sibugay who also served as the resource person for this seminar, plans to provide the same program to other TVIs not only in the province but also in other parts of Zamboanga Peninsula.(joywee/tesda9)
