TESDA IX distributes STEP Tool Kits during Araw ng Zamboanga Sibugay

The tool kits for the beneficiaries of the Special Training for Employment Program in Zamboanga SIbugay were finally distributed during the culminating program of the Araw ng Zamboanga Sibugay last February 26, 2015 at the Capitol Building. The occasion began with a mass in the morning followed by the distribution of the tool kits to STEP beneficiaries.

The event was hosted by Hon. Ann K. Hofer, the District Representative of Zamboanga Sibugay 2^nd District with the DOLE Regional Director Sisinio B. Cano, CHED Regional Director Juanito R. Demetrio, TESDA Regional Director Lorenzo G. Macapili and TESDA Provincial Director Lorenzo Emmanuel L. Guillermo present.

The qualifications for the tool kits include:

· Install Wiring Devices/Install Lighting Systems (Leading to Consumer Electronics Servicing NC II) – 20 units

· Maintain & Repair Audio/Video Products and System (Leading to Consumer Electronics Servicing NC II) – 29 units

· Masonry NC I – 20 units

· Perform Single Unit Plumbing Installation and Repair Maintenance Works (Leading to Plumbing NC II) – 29 units

· Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) NC I – 25 units

· Service Engine Mechanical Components (Leading to Automotive Servicing NC II) – 20 units

The Special Training for Employment Program (STEP) is a community-based specialty training program that will address the specific skills needs of the communities and promote employment, particularly through entrepreneurial, self-employment and service-oriented activities. Training Regulations promulgated by TESDA whenever applicable.
