15th HRSD Conference all set in Surigao

The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority Region IX is on the move as preparations for the 15th Human Resource and Skills Development Conference is set to be held at the Phil Gateway Hotel, Surigao City on August 9-11, 2016 with the theme: "ONWARDS TVET: Changes and Transitions Towards 2020."

CARAGA Region plays host to the annual gathering of various TVET stakeholders which include delegates comprising public and private institutions, Local Government Units, National Government Agencies, basic education and higher education institutions to include their Presidents, School Administrators, Department Heads, Faculty and Staff, Industry partners and TESDA Officials coming from the six (6) Administrative Regions in Mindanao.

The different topics to be discussed in the conference include the following:

  1. Challenges & Opportunities in Human Capital Investment - DDG Rosanna A. Urdaneta, TESDA

  2. Philippine Employment Trends in the Context of Global Development - Usec. Ciriaco A. Lagunzad III, DOLE

  3. Education and Mindanao Development - RD Myla Fay Aurora B. Carino, NEDA-CARAGA

  4. Leading Organizational Change - RD Florencio F. Sunico, Jr., TESDA VII

  5. Managing Changes & Transition in TVET - Irene L. Floro, President Skills Mastery Institute and Joji I. Bian, President JIB International School

This year's conference is jointly organized by the CARAGA Association of Technical Vocational Institutions (CATVII) and TESDA CARAGA Region.

The conference aims to provide a forum where the TVET sector may discuss and find solutions to the improvement of the delivery of technical vocational education and training to the Filipino people in general and Mindanao specifically.
