TESDA IX joins DOLE in unveiling of Ecozone’s Labor Laws Compliant achievement

The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority Region IX joined the Department of Labor and Employment Region IX and the Zamboanga Freeport Authority in the unveiling of the latter’s feat as a Labor Laws Compliant Economic Zone.

The program was held in the Conference Room at the Zamboanga City Special Economic Zone Authority, Talisayan, Zamboanga City. The program also featured the Awarding of Certificates of Compliance to the stakeholders from the different industry in the Zamboanga Peninsula Region, and the announcement of the winners of the Productivity Olympics.

The program also featured TESDA IX, represented by Regional Director Lorenzo G. Macapili, Provincial Director Eulalio B. Lumactod and Regional Operations Division Chief Alan T. Bacatan, presenting to the Zamboanga City Mayor Beng Climaco the TWSP Slot Allocation for 2015 which include the following: TWSP – Language Skills Institute (Spanish Language) 400 Coupons worth P600,000 to be implemented in ZamboEcozone, TWSP – ATVS 55 Coupons worth P439,300, TWSP – Various TVIs 152 Coupons worth P956,500 for a total of 607 Coupons amounting to P1,995,800.

Also during the program TESDA IX, through ROD Chief Alan T. Bacatan, distributed National Certificates to DOLE IX Regional Director Sisinio B. Cano for the qualification of Agricultural Crops Production NC III, DOLE IX Assistant Regional Director Yahya Centi for the qualification for Events Management Services NC III, ECC Head Cerna Ahmad for the qualification for Events Management Services NC III, TESDA IX Provincial Director Eulalio B. Lumactod for the qualification for Automotive Servicing NC III and TESDA IX Regional Director Lorenzo G. Macapili for the qualification for Electrical Installation and Maintenance NC III.

The occasion was highlighted by a message from the DOLE Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz who spoke of the different programs implemented by the present administration in all areas of government. The program ended with the unveiling of the marker signifying the Zamboanga Freeport Authority’s achievement of being a Labor Laws Compliant Economic Zone.
