STEP Tool Kits for TESDA Region IX inspected

The tool kits for the Special Training for Employment Program were inspected by an Inspection and Acceptance Committee from TESDA Central Office who arrived in Zamboanga on February 24, 2015. The Committee conducted actual inspection and testing of goods at the TESDA IX Regional Office at San Roque, Zamboanga City where the delivery of goods were made from February 24-26, 2015. The tool kits were kept and stored in the Conference Hall of the regional office which provided sufficient space for inspection and testing of the goods.

TESDA IX Regional Director Lorenzo G. Macapili, Regional Operations Division Chief Alan T. Bacatan, Regional Finance and Administrative Services Division Chief Jocelyn C. Wee and Supply Officer Bedeline E. Macias and staff were present during the inspection, testing and delivery of the tool kits.

The Inspection Team assigned to Region IX was comprised of Jonathan R. Señora, TESD Specialist II, RTC-Guiguinto, Sylvia S. Vera Cruz, Assistant Professor III, JZGMSAT, Elenita P. Manzano, Assistant Professor III, JZGMSAT, Orlando P. Saulon, Instructor II, JZGMSAT, Glenn F. Salandanan, Head Teacher III, JZGMSAT, Johram V. Palconan, Instructor II, JZGMSAT, Mylene H. Somera, Supervising TESD Specialist, TESDA Women’s Center (TWC), Vergel P. Soriano, Senior TESD Specialist, RTC-Batangas, Eduardo B. Alminiana, Supervising TESD Specialist, Certification Office, Joseph Allen L. Simon, Procurement Division, AS, Mary Cris P. Base, ODDG-TESDO and Alberto F. Escueta, Accounting Division, FMS.

The qualifications for the tool kits include: Install Wiring Devices/Install Lighting Systems (Leading to Consumer Electronics Servicing NC II), Maintain and Repair Audio/Video Products and System (Leading to Consumer Electronics Servicing NC II), Masonry NC I, Perform Single Unit Plumbing Installation and Repair Maintenance Works (Leading to Plumbing NC II), Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) NC I, Service Engine Mechanical Components (Leading to Automotive Servicing NC II), Perform Diesel/Gas Engine Tune Up (Leading to Automotive Servicing NC I), Carpentry NC II, Install Wiring Devices/Install Lighting Systems (Leading to Electrical Installation and Maintenance NC II), Perform Single Unit Plumbing Installation and Repair Maintenance Work (Leading to Plumbing NC II).

All the tool kits that were stored and inspected amounted to P13,440,604.05 Million.

The Special Training for Employment Program is a community-based specialty training program that will address the specific skills needs of the communities and promote employment, particularly through entrepreneurial, self-employment and service-oriented activities. Training programs are generally short-term and use the cluster of competencies prescribed in the Training Regulations promulgated by TESDA.
