TESDA IX joins Zamboanga City in celebrating 78th Dia de Zamboanga

The City of Zamboanga held its 78^th Dia de la Ciudad de Zamboanga celebration last February 26, 2015 with a Grand Civic-Military Parade which started at 3:00pm at the Zamboanga Fire District Station and ending at the Paseo del Mar for the Main Program at 4:00pm with TESDA IX being the 8^th contingent under DOLE.

A contingent representing the Kingdom of Spain was present. Special prizes were given out to the Most Colorful Contingent, Liveliest Contingent and Largest Contingent.

The celebrations held for Dia de la Ciudad de Zamboanga commemorates the passing of Commonwealth Act No. 39 on September 23, 1936 making Zamboanga, at that time, the largest chartered city by land area in the Philippines. The Charter was signed by President Manuel Quezon on October 12, 1936 and in a celebration held outside the City Hall, the new city government was inaugurated in February 26, 1937.
