As part of the celebration of Women’s Month, TESDA IX joined in the Baile de las Mujeres parade led by Zamboanga City Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco Salazar and the Local Government of Zamboanga City last March 9, 2015. The parade began at the Zamboanga Fire Station and ended at the Paseo del Mar.

The parade signifies the formal celebration of Women’s Month, a time when gender and development will be on the forefront of discussions regarding the rights and role of women in society.

Advancing gender equality and women empowerment has become TESDA’s key element in delivering valuable technical-vocational education to Filipinos. In developing a gender-responsive enabling environment where a link between TESDA’s gender and development plan and budget and gender issues in TVET are made to address the inequality between men and women in the technical-vocational education and training sector.
