Environmental Science uses data collected by scientific methods to evaluate and make decisions with regards to humans and their relationship with natural systems. The complex interactions of the earth's systems and human needs do not always fit together, and there are often competing interests. This unit will introduce these systems, the methods of science, and the factors used to evaluate our use and impact on the earth and its resources. It will also look at the specific case study that is the environment of Surry County.
