Unit 9 - Endocrine System

Unit Plan:

Why are hormones blamed for everything?

The endocrine system controls the body through complex biochemical/genetic interactions. This unit examines the function of this system from identifying the original secreting glands, the hormones released, the targets of those hormones, and the effect of those hormones on their target. The body often works to maintain ranges of hormones and problems arise from both under- and over-production. Science is also examining how so many chemicals impact hormone function.
