Five Islands Provincial Park, Bay of Fundy, Nova Scotia - afternoon low tide, July 17, 2017 (high resolution)

I teach science. I graduated from the College of William & Mary and reside in an 18th century farmhouse in Surry County. Over the length of my career I have taught many, many subjects at the high school level with a primary focus on life and earth sciences. I have a passion for science and education and am proud to say that I love my profession. My wonderful wife Anna Hansen and I have three children (Katrin, Erik and Ethan.) When outside of school I am constantly engaged in at least one of my many hobbies and am NEVER bored. When not teaching I can be found in the garden, restoring my farmhouse, hand-building furniture, making art, reviving a Triumph Spitfire convertible, traveling, reading science non-fiction...
