Lesson: Scientific Vocabulary Building
What do all of those complicated words mean?
This lesson builds the basic language of A&P, with a focus on word building and word defining based on root prefixes and suffixes.
Warm Ups, etc.:
Instruction, Presentations, Assignments, Activities, etc:
Root Term Prefix and Suffix List and Assignment - students use list provided to define a set of vocabulary, choosing from separate lists. Class discussion unites lists and provides examples to add relevance.
Activity - Directions of the Heart - - Students label diagrams of "The Heart" and "Conduction System of the Heart" from the textbook worksheet and then use the labeled diagram to answer the questions
