Unit - Digestive System
What happens to the cookie from the moment it enters your body until the wastes leave?
This unit's attention is placed on the digestive system. Students will learn the path from food to feces, locating and identifying both functions and diseases to the organs of both the gastrointestinal tract and its accessory organs. This unit is especially important in preparation for the end-of-course dissection. The digestive system is relatively large and prominent in the preserved specimen. It is also comparatively easy to extract and examine without destroying the organs.
