SOL 5 - Mechanisms of Inheritance and Protein Synthesis

Unit Summary: This unit is separated into three distinct sections. The first section will deal with the divisions of cells, for both asexual and sexual reproduction. The second unit will explore patterns of heredity that can be found in nature and through basic experimentation. The final unit will pull these the first two units together, with the added level of our modern understanding of molecular biology added. Biology is often summarized as "DNA to RNA to Protein." These units will place this statement into context.
