This lesson examines the collaborative role of scientists over time. As new information was added and built upon over time, it led to the development of the "Cell Theory." This lesson also examines more modern contributions from several important women biologists.

Warm Ups, etc:

Koch's Postulate - investigate the history and role of the "germ theory" (SOL 4)

Cytologists - review the contributions of scientists and development of key principles of the Cell Theory

Activities, Assignments, Etc.

Post-test - "Survey of Life" - give overview of size difference between virus, prokaryote, eukaryote. Discuss key features of viruses and explain why they are factored into the science of biology. Outline key distinctive features of three domains/six kingdoms.
