Unit Plan:
Why does the sun shine? (...and what does this teach us about the universe?)
This unit puts us in our place. Students will learn how the earth is the third planet, orbiting the sun. The sun is an average star in our Milky Way Galaxy, which is one galaxy among billions in an ever-expanding 13.8 billion year old universe.
