Unit - Skeletal System

Everyone knows your bones support you, but what else is your skeleton doing and how does it manage those tasks?

This unit examines the structure, function and pathology of the skeletal system. Students will describe both microscopic and macroscopic features of bones. This unit also identifies the bones of each subdivision of the skeleton. Students will also relate the structure of joints to the variety of motions they enable. Bone and joint maladies are identified and students will identify/diagnose bone fractures while relating the healing process of the bone to previous knowledge.
