Kumaon Hi-Altitude Villages Trek (K-Trek)
A 10-day, 100+ KM trek to some high-altitude Villages of Eastern Kumaon. Route: Loharkhet - Dhakuri - Khati - Mikila - Kimu - Namik - Thal~Kharik - Chupoo~Pass and finally the trail ending on the road to Munsiary (32KM), between Bala & Birthi Falls

Thal~Kharik to Chupoo Pass & back to Thal~Kharaik
Today Debu and I left early at 7:00AM to climb of 350M (1200ft) up the very steep gradient ridge above Thal, to the top of Chuphoo pass at 3500M. It was very cold and I forgot to wear my gloves.
By the time, I reached the top, breathless from climbing and the scenic views, my fingers were frozen stiff. Debu lit up a small fire and I warmed my hands before reaching around the viewpoint past the Zilla Parishad Hut. Wow! what great views all around the 360* from there. The Namik Glacier was glistening white in the morning sunlight:

We reached the top at 8:00 in 1 hour, spent 45 mins there and came down back to Thal in about 45Mins at 9:30AM. Balwant had hot Khichidi ready. We ate that and then packed up to walk down to Birthi. We started off at 10:00AM.
