08 Bhedaghat

MP Tour

Bhedaghat is a gorge in the Narmada river, 22Kms west of Jabalpur. Gleaming white, pink, black, brown cliffs rise from the waters and are an impressive sight, especially by moonlight

11th December 2005:

I reached Bedhaghat at 4:45 pm driving in from Kanha NP. I parked the car near a ghat and immediately took a Boat-ride on Narmada to see the famous marble Rocks here before it gets dark. The pics of these Marble Rocks follows:

Narmada River at Bhedaghat ..... near Jabalpur, MP

The marble rocks of Bhedaghat are in a gorge in the Narmada River. The gleaming white, pink, brown and black cliffs rise sheer from clear water of the river and are an impressive sight! A boat ride in the moonlight here is very popular, but I could not do that. I just took a ride in the late evening at around 5 pm.

By 5:45pm my boat ride was over and I checked into a nearby Hotel River View for the night at Rs 400/- per night. It was decent and modern hotel, with a car parking frontage.

Tomorrow, I have planned a long drive all the way to Khajuraho, some 330 Kms away to the north.
