Day-01 Flight To Lukla and Trek to Benkar

5th November > Flight to Lukla & trek to Benkar

We repeated Yesterday's routine to reach Kathmandu Airport domestic terminal. We were on the 8:00AM flight today; this flight too got delayed and we finally took off at 11:45AM and landed at Lukla at 12:15PM.

We were met at the terminal by our porter Bhupendra. Who first took us to the nearby Paradise Guest house where we had lunch.

At 2:00PM we started our trek from Lukla heading North towards Phakding. This was a familiar route for me but not so for my trek companions. There were a lot of changes here on the trail ... many more Teahouses and lots more people walking, mostly to EBC.

We passed Phakding at 5:00PM and decided to carry on a bit more to Benkar. It started getting dark by 6PM and but we pressed on and arrived at Benkar in total darkness with help of our head lamps. Checked into the Hotel Waterfall, right next to a bridge crossing a stream. After dinner slept off as we were tired with the first day's longish walk.
