Trek Diary for Day > 1 Loharkhet - Karmi
Day-1 Dec-20, 2009 : Bageshwar to Karmi via Loharkhet
We got a share jeep from Bageshwar to Bharari at 8:30am and reached there by 9:30am and after breakfast of hot aloo-parathas continued on another share jeep to Saung reaching by 11:00am.

At Saung Debu arranged a booking jeep to take us to Karmi Village. That rough track road goes past Loharkhet-KMVN and climbs all the way to the top of the saddle-ridge above Loharkhet's inter-college campus and the temple on the ridge. This 4wd track that will finally become a full-fledged road all the way to Khati village via Vaidyakot. We left Saung at 11:30am stopped for an hour in Loharkhet to collect some sleeping bags and get the tourist permit to enter the area.

We continued to Ridge top to briefly visit the Temple there and then stopped above Pitu Village where Debu sent down some gift pack of fruits to his Brother's daughter in her sasural; and continued to Karmi on the other side of the ridge. We had to stop 2 kms short of Karmi (due to some road work) and trek down to last stretch to Karmi Village arriving at 2:30am.
Debu arranged a home stay for us in Village Home. Karmi was also Sasural of Anand our porter so we got to meet his In-Laws too here.
